Everyone is searching for hope nowadays. We look for it in our relationships, the job or the possessions that we have. We look for it in the politicians we vote for, the nest egg that we have saved for, and even in the substances that we try. With so much uncertainty in our lives and in the world, it is easy to be crippled by fear and despair. But how does this Christmas season change all that? How does the arrival of a baby give us a thrill of hope and even joy in the midst of our unknowns and our suffering?
